At the AGM of October 2018, the motions to close the Unincorporated Association (Scouting Ireland) were withdrawn by the National Management Committee citing legal advice, they said they would continue on for a short period to properly close down the Association. There have been a few communications since then setting out the work the NMC was pursuing and declaring changes to their membership as vacancies occurred. Most recently their continuing existence has been linked to an issue relating to insurance cover for matters in the past. It would seem on the face of it that the NMC are not operating in accordance with the Constitution or the Rules of the Association and there has been no National Council (General Meeting) held since October 2018. The last know version of the Constitution and the Rules of the Association are included here for information.
